Aston Villa’s Midfield General

In recent years, Aston Villa have rediscovered their best form and established themselves as one of the stronger teams in European football. They have even managed to reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the highest level of European club competition.

Their rise to becoming such a competitive team has been influenced by several factors, including strong recruitment and the appointment of world-class coaching staff.

At the heart of Aston Villa’s midfield, there is one player who has consistently been producing outstanding performances and carrying the team forward. That player is Youri Tielemans.

Despite regularly delivering excellent performances, Tielemans has not always received the level of praise he deserves. In fact, he is arguably one of the most underrated players in Aston Villa’s squad.

He is a physically strong and competitive midfielder who is also extremely effective when it comes to distributing the ball.

This season in the Premier League, Tielemans has even outperformed midfielders such as Bruno Guimarães and Ryan Gravenberch in certain statistical areas. He has been particularly impressive when it comes to completing passes while under pressure and in close-contact situations within three metres.

Tielemans’ technical ability is certainly not inferior to that of many other world-class midfielders.

He also possesses several impressive statistics in the Premier League. Even when opponents are applying intense pressure, Tielemans is capable of maintaining his composure and distributing the ball effectively.

He is also highly confident when attempting difficult through balls, often making risky passes look effortless.

Another major strength of Tielemans is his work rate. He can maintain a high level of intensity throughout an entire match, while also contributing significantly when it comes to creating big chances.

Despite consistently producing high-quality performances and using his best attributes to help carry Aston Villa, Tielemans has not always received the recognition he deserves.
